Car fanatics were entertained by the second edition of SMD Ballito Street Heroes, hosted by the KwaDukuza Municipality, over the weekend.
From breathtaking speed, to the smell of burning rubber this was one event I was not going to miss being the petrol head that I am!
The event itself noticeably improved in terms of race entrants, show and shine contestants and Street Heros went a step further in holding a cocktail party and auction which managed to raise R100 000 for the Ithemba Labasha Community Centre, based at Shaka’s Head, Ballito. I absolutely love it when things like this come together, giving back is a big part of my lifestyle and an attribute anyone can be proud of.
Special mention to Backdraft racing, those cobras really get the blood flowing!
I’m normally a lone ranger when it comes to shooting events like this but this time I had some company which was a nice change. Jessica my girlfriend who for the first time had a camera of her own, needless to say she completely blew me away with her skill behind a camera. Tristan & Gillian you guys are good people and friends I can count on one hand, check them out – G & T Photography. What an awesome weekend.
