Nambiti Big 5 Game Reserve is rapidly becoming one of Africa’s most innovative wildlife initiatives.
At the heart of the reserve lies Ndaka Safari Lodge, which in my opinion is one of the most welcoming and spectacular lodges in the reserve. From the wonderful food to the dedicated staff Ndaka really is a gem.
It’s great to walk into a lodge and see images you have shot lining the walls as well as most of the rooms, nothing beats seeing images printed big! Tracey & Mark the owners commissioned me to shoot the first bit of their lodge about a year ago and here I am shooting phase 2 of their piece of paradise. This time however I was joined by Tristan, Gill, Jess and Daryl, best group of people I know. Plus Gary and Debbie but they couldn’t make it!
There is something so satisfying about photographing wildlife, ever since I was a kid I have wanted to work in the bush. It just so happens that through photography I get to live that life and the possibilities of where it could potentially take me are endless.
Nature and her offspring promise plenty of breathtaking moments that many do not have the pleasure of experiencing firsthand. Through photography I have the job of sharing those moment with others. People can then appreciate nature through my images, drawing attention to their present plight, highlighting the pressing need for their safe preservation.
I love the fact that wildlife photography is such a challenge, you never know what’s going to happen or what you are going to see. The moments you don’t care about facebook & twitter or even what the time is, for me just being in the bush is the ultimate escape from reality, being out there doing what you love is all I really need in life.
In the next few months I will be running a few Photo Safaris at Nambiti, after much planning and working on making this affordable for everyone I can say that in the next month or two you can expect a game changer, so keep your eyes open for something everyone can experience.
To Mark & Tracey you are some of the most genuine people I have met, thank you for everything you have done, people like you are hard to come by these days. Hats off to you guys, you can be proud. I can also say, you have some of the best staff in the business, please send them my regards!
